Mark The Date February 7th 2024 – The ZEE Goalkeeper Academy Takes Off in Cocoa, Florida
After 2 years the ZEE Goalkeeper Academy Friday Academy Sessions are back! This time in Port St John, Cocoa Florida!
The Academy has joined forces with the Port St John Soccer Club and all sessions will take place inside the beautiful Space Cost Communities Sports Complex located at 662 Canaveral Groves Blvd, Cocoa, FL.
The sessions will take place every Friday evening from 6.00pm to 8.00pm all the way till the end of the spring season giving space to the many Goalkeeper Camps scheduled during the summer.
The Goalkeeper Academy sessions are open to goalkeepers ages 10 through 18 that have played at least one season in a competitive travel league team in the role and that are seeking to drastically improve their goalkeeping. Goalkeepers will be divided into age groups 10-12, 13-14 and 15+. However there could be some variations where more advanced goalkeepers will train in a higher age bracket and other that still need to adjust the basics will join a younger age group.
The training curriculum is Real-Game-Set. In other words we’re not going to work with the goalkeepers on basics, that is something they already receive at their club. Our technical and tactical training consists on how to respond to a multitude of situations that will happen during the game. The goalkeeper will learn what kind of save needs to be implemented at every situation they may be facing with the addition on how to also protect themselves when making “contact” saves. In the United States this is something hardly any goalkeeper school will offer their students… NOT WITH US!
The goalkeepers will work with 2 different goalkeeper coaches per Friday session, one in the first hour and the remaining 60 minutes with a second coach, then the following week they will work with another 2 goalkeeper coaches. This is so that all keepers get to train with 4 very experienced coaches and pick up the best from all them. This is something we implemented in the past and at our goalkeeper camps and has shown to be very beneficial in the drastic improvements or our goalkeepers skillsets.
The monthly fee is $160 per goalkeeper. Space for the sessions is fully booked, however openings in the various age groups are very common and because we are seeking to add more professional goalkeeper coaches to our roster will create more space for additional goalkeepers contacting us is always a very good idea!
