The ZEE Goalkeeper Academy – John Achterberg Goalkeeper Camp in Port Orange Florida was an Amazing Success
For the past 7 years the ZEE Goalkeeper Academy has been hosting the largest and most competitive goalkeeper camps in the United States. The most important thing of all is that we never “Babysit”, we offer all of our students and campers the most advanced training techniques and the most qualified goalkeeper coaches. Special guests at our goalkeeper camps are nothing new as we enjoy bringing in the “Big-Guys” the most popular goalkeeper coaches that have a reach on a Worldwide platform!
This time we had the absolute honor to have with us for all three days of the June goalkeeper camp Liverpool Football Club Goalkeeper Coach John Achterberg
It was a truly amazing experience for the 60 goalkeepers present and the 10 coaches that followed and executed Johns drills during the 12 hour camp. John personally went from station-to-station to assist the coaches, giving them valuable suggestions on how to improve their sessions and most of all the contact he made with the goalkeepers was truly a gift! John took his time to work with all the keepers at least once on a 1v1 level, something that we personally have never witnessed before at our camps when bringing in “Special Guests”.
The impact that John had on our campers and coaches was truly unique, John took the time to answer all questions no matter how long he had to stay at the complex. He interacted with most of the campers parents as well and took the time to talk individually to all the coaches. A true leader, this is why he is at the top of the list worldwide when it comes down to goalkeeper coaches!
We have had some amazing goalkeeper camps in the past years, but I’m sure that all administrators, coaches, campers and parents can agree that this was by far the best goalkeeper camp hosted by the ZEE Goalkeeper Academy period!
John brought with him 2 Liverpool FC Jerseys, one signed by the whole first team and the other by all the goalkeepers and the GK staff. On day one the keepers all received a free raffle ticket and at the closing ceremony john pulled out of a hat the two lucky winners! The closing ceremony included two trophies (one for the MVP male and another for the MVP female), other gifts were given out from Net World Sports and Select.
The big question is, because this goalkeeper camp was such a huge success, will John Achterberg be back for another Goalkeeper Camp ? Well, he gave us his word that he will try to squeeze us in next summer as well, so that we can host yet again another amazing goalkeeper camp with one of the best (if not the best) goalkeeper coach in the history of soccer!
